Inexpensive High quality, full featured dynamic RDS/RBDS Encoder
Overview
This encoder has the same internals at the top-of-the-line C02 but omits the screen & Jogwheel and TCP/IP functionality is optional.
Dual Sync inputs and RDS outputs allow the C04 to properly interface with both main and backup airchains.
Four Serial ports and an (optional) integrated TCP/IP Interface running UDP and the more reliable TCP makes it easy to integrate the encoder into an existing network allowing you to monitor, program and control the encoder via TCP/IP ( & SNMP) from anywhere.
Each encoder comes with Arcos Config Configuration Software which runs under Windows and allows you to configure all features of one encoder or an entire network without resorting to complicated Telnet commands.
Practical applications of the C04 extend from basic Station features such as Scrolling PS to real-time Title and Artist display to advanced RDS applications such as Traffic Message Channel (TMC), Emergency Warning Systems, RT+ and song tagging

Hardware
The C04 operates over a wide range of input impedances and output levels so it can match up with almost any transmitter system. It can be set up in pass-through mode if your exciter does not have a spare SCA port and will use an internal 19KHz clock if there is no external pilot available.
The box is a standard 19" by 1 R/U. At its heart is a powerful microcomputer for controlling the hardware functions, managing the RDS data and driving the interfaces. Four RS-232-C interfaces are available. The screen can display all programmable settings and the jog wheel can be used to change them so you can set up the encoder without taking a computer on site.
The RDS signal is generated using a powerful DSP and the Inputs and Outputs can be configured as unbalanced or balanced while a third front panel output allows for convenient monitoring. If the C02 needs to be connected to a stereo generator or exciter without an SCA port then it can be configured in pass-through mode allowing you to simply place the C02 in series in your program chain.
Functions such as nonvolatile data storage, watchdog, real-time clock, remote-control inputs and signaling relays are standard in the C04.
Easy-to-Use Software
With some encoders, configuration can be difficult requiring you to learn and navigate through many DOS commands to set up your Encoder.
Our Windows software make this much easier, allowing you to do everything from the GUI.
Configs can be saved as XML files and you can manage an entire network of Encoders from one interface.

Automation System Interface
Automation systems can be interfaced via Serial port or sending UDP or TCP to the IP port. Both complete string and Title & Artist automation are supported using commands customizable for almost any system.
The latest firmware ( free upgrade) supports automation creation of RT+ from Title & Artist for mobile devices like the Mocrosoft Zune or Apple Ipod
